• Thirteen PCs connected by a network switch:
  1.7GHz CPU, 256 MB RAM, 100 Mbit ETHERNET
  
  
• VM for both systems: Sun’s Java 1.3.1 with Client Hotspot
  
  
• Tests to evaluate several characteristics:
  • message and data rate
  • scalability
  • reliability
